Post-Anesthesia Care RN (PACU Nurse)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Post-Anesthesia Care Registered Nurses to support the Atlanta VA Health Care Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Nurses may also be asked to provide services at Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC). Multiple shift schedules are available. Responsibilities
PACU RNs shall work in accordance with the policies of the VA healthcare system where assigned. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilizes the nursing process, nursing skills, technology, research, and all available resources to maximize the delivery of safe, efficient, quality care to a variety pre-operative and post-operative surgical patients
- Functions as a primary nurse accountable for planning and coordinating the delivery of Peri-Anesthesia nursing care to post-surgical patients
- Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction
- Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stage, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences
- Provides a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems
- Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team
- Poised and articulated in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds
- Works cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments
- Participates in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse academic program (BSN or ADN)
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Three (3) years of recent PACU RN work experience is required
- No sponsorship available
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
