Murphy VA Medical Center located at 7400 Merton Minter Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78229. Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, 7am-4:00pm. Full-time and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of Interventional Radiology procedures, including vascular interventions, biopsies, drain placements, angiography, thrombectomy procedures, embolization procedures, dialysis access procedures, catheter placements, nephrostomy procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and other image-guided procedures.
- Provide direct patient care, accounting for approximately 90% of work time.
- Review consults, orders, and next-day patient cases for a minimum of two hours daily.
- Determine appropriate treatment plans and communicate recommendations to referring providers.
- Perform post-procedure evaluations, follow-up care, and complication management.
- Provide discharge instructions and patient education.
- Ensure communication of test results in accordance with VA policy.
- Document all care within the VA electronic health record.
- Participate in on-call coverage during non-business hours.
- Respond to phone consultation requests within 15 minutes.
- Arrive onsite within 60 minutes when called back for urgent clinical needs
- Board Certified in Interventional Radiology.
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- NPI report printout
- Must maintain active AHA BLS and ACLS
- Active DEA license
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
