Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Nuclear Medicine Technologists (NMT) to support operations at the Syracuse VA Medical Center located at 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210. Services to be provided include the full range of Nuclear Medicine department operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for nuclear medicine imaging procedures
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine studies, including but not limited to:
- Bone scans, brain scans, cardiac stress tests, GI bleed scans, HIDA, thyroid, lung perfusion/ventilation, iodine therapy
- Prepare and administer radioactive and non‑radioactive pharmaceuticals
- Accurately record radiopharmaceutical doses
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and monitoring systems
- Evaluate image quality and take corrective action when needed
- Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal changes to physicians
- Enter imaging data and notes into VA electronic medical records (CPRS/PACS)
- Follow all radiation safety, ALARA, infection control, and VA policies
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment and work areas
- Document delayed cases with reason and plan of action
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff
Qualifications
- Certification by NMTCB or ARRT (N) in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Current, full, and unrestricted Radiologic Technology license (U.S. state/territory/DC)
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing nuclear medicine exams
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Completion of VA‑required training (HIPAA, Privacy, CPRS, VISTA, Cyber Security)
- Annual continuing education to maintain certification
- Successful VA credentialing, background investigation, and health screenings
- Compliance with immunization and TB testing requirements

Pay Range: $85.00 - $90.00 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
