Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting for Ultrasound (US) Technologists to support the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System located at 11301 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90073, and potentially at any of its surrounding clinics. Ultrasound Technologists shall have in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential. The technologists shall collect and communicate all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist. The technologists shall explain exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements. The technologists shall also work closely with other department technologists and continue quality improvement activities on a daily basis. Available shift schedules include days, evenings, and nights. Responsibilities
- Maintains in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential
- Collects and communicates all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist
- Explains exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements
- Works closely with other department technologists and continues quality improvement activities on a daily basis
- Sets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available
- Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patient’s condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), and reports any significant changes to a radiologist
- Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed
- Performs related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports
- As required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package
Qualifications
- English language proficiency
- Registered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), shall have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality and shall be able to work with minimal or no supervision
- Note - Student internship and training time spent in a radiology setting does not count toward the two (2) years of experience
- Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

Pay Range: $43.43 - $58.00 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
