Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Phlebotomists to support the Fresno VA Medical Center located at 2615 E. Clinton Ave, Fresno, CA 93703. Multiple shift schedules currently available. Responsibilities

  • Collect, transport, process, and evaluate the suitability of blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing
  • Perform routine and STAT specimen collection and testing in support of clinical chemistry, histology, toxicology, immunology, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology
  • Receive, deliver, and store specimens for all lab sections
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, ensuring patient safety and compliance with infection control standards
  • Report patient safety incidents immediately and complete incident reporting as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all medical record and privacy regulations
  • Wear a Personal Identity Validation (PIV) card as required
  • Participate in required training and quality assurance activities
  • Work any shift as needed, including covering for absences, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Follow all established standards of care (VA, Joint Commission, AHA, etc.)
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area, using protective clothing as required

Qualifications

  • Current phlebotomy certification (proof required before start and at renewal)
  • Minimum 6 months of direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws
  • No Sponsorship available 

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
