Certified Radiologic Technologist/MRI Technologist (CT/MR)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking a dual Certified CT/MR Technologist to support operations at the Northport VA Medical Center located at 79 Middleville Rd, Northport, NY 11768. Shifts include working days, evenings, nights and to include a weekend and holiday rotation. Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) examinations, including contrast and non‑contrast studies
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining exams, addressing questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Operate CT and MR equipment in accordance with established protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy, imaging techniques, and safety principles
- Administer contrast agents and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Ensure strict adherence to MRI safety standards, including screening patients, staff, and equipment
- Evaluate images for quality and diagnostic accuracy prior to radiologist interpretation
- Document procedures, exam delays, and clinical notes in the VA electronic health record (CPRS/VistA)
- Track and document reportable CT radiation doses as required
- Follow all radiation safety, infection control, and patient safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff
- Participate in quality improvement activities, required meetings, and ongoing performance monitoring
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of imaging equipment and work areas
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of imaging services
Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (R)
- ARRT advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
- ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI (or documented MRI‑specific training and experience as required by facility)
- Active, full, and unrestricted Radiologic Technologist license in any U.S. state or territory
- Minimum three (3) years of recent experience working in advanced imaging modalities (CT and/or MRI)
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Advanced CT imaging techniques and protocols
- MRI physics, safety, and cross‑sectional anatomy
- Use of PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
