Ultrasound Technologist
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Ultrasound Technologists to to support operations at the VA New Jersey Health Care System located at 1051 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753. Multiple shift schedule available. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain exams.
- Perform diagnostic imaging studies according to departmental protocols.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure image quality.
- Position patients properly and maintain radiation safety standards.
- Monitor patients during examinations and identify changes requiring physician notification.
- Prepare contrast agents and administer imaging-related medications when authorized.
- Evaluate studies for quality and repeat imaging when appropriate.
- Upload and manage images within PACS and VA systems.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and radiation safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement and staff meetings.
- Document delays and incomplete studies in CPRS.
- Perform ultrasound examinations including:
- Abdomen
- Retroperitoneal
- Small Parts
- OB/GYN
- Male Pelvis
- Breast Sonography
- Vascular Imaging
- Breast Biopsies.
Qualifications
- RDMS certification through ARDMS required.
- Appropriate specialty credential(s) in Abdomen, Breast, and/or OB/GYN depending on services provided
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing required ultrasound and vascular studies
- English language proficiency (spoken and written)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Completion of VA‑required training and credentialing
- Ongoing continuing education and competency verification
- Background check, immunizations, TB testing, and VA onboarding clearance
- No sponsorship available
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
