HVAC Tech/Mechanic
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting HVAC Tech/Mechanics to support the North Texas VA Medical Center located at 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216. Shift schedule will typically be Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Responsibilities
- Install, operate, repair, and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and chilled water systems.
- Work on equipment ranging from small domestic units to systems up to 300 HP and central plants up to 500 tons.
- Inspect HVAC and refrigeration equipment for proper operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance and both major and minor repairs.
- Troubleshoot refrigerant leaks, mechanical failures, and control systems.
- Service compressors and HVAC components.
- Adjust, calibrate, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic controls.
- Perform chemical treatment of HVAC water systems.
- Coordinate daily work assignments with the VA COR.
- Provide daily reports including completed work, preventive maintenance, parts replaced, equipment serviced, and follow-up needs.
- Complete daily timecards and documentation of work performed.
- Follow VA check-in/check-out procedures and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of journeyman-level refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and chilled water systems.
- Experience performing repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance on large commercial HVAC systems.
- Experience in hospital or critical infrastructure environments preferred
- Active Texas HVAC License required.
- Siemens Controls Training certification required.
- OSHA Certification required.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Blueprints
- Mechanical drawings
- Wiring diagrams
- Schematics

All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
