Overview
The Consultant supports VHA’s mission by contributing to enterprise healthcare transformation initiatives aligned with leadership priorities. This role focuses on analysis, coordination, and execution support under the guidance of senior consultants and client leadership. The consultant works across program offices and field operations to support integrated solutions within evolving healthcare delivery environments.
The work is fast-paced and often ambiguous, requiring adaptability, strong organization, and a willingness to learn as priorities shift in response to policy changes and emerging healthcare needs.

Responsibilities:
- Support senior consultants and client leaders in planning and executing healthcare transformation initiatives
- Assist with project management activities including scheduling, tracking actions, and managing deliverables
- Conduct research, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination to inform decision-making
- Help develop executive-ready briefings, presentations, and decision support materials
- Coordinate with VHA program offices and field teams to support alignment and information flow
- Track risks, issues, and dependencies and escalate as appropriate
- Adapt to shifting priorities and provide responsive support to program and project teams
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in consulting, healthcare, or federal programs
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree a plus
- Exposure to project or program management methodologies; certifications a plus but not required
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Experience supporting federal healthcare or VHA initiatives preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a team-based environment
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
