Operating Room Nurse (OR RN)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Operating Room Registered Nurses to support the Atlanta VA Health Care Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Nurses may also be asked to provide services at Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC). Multiple shift schedules are available. Responsibilities
Operating Room RNs shall work in accordance with the policies of the VA healthcare system where assigned. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Functions as an integral member of the surgical team
- Interfaces with patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff in the surgical setting
- Implements the pre-operative plan of care demonstrating knowledge of the responsibilities of the RN pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively
- Scrubs and circulates surgical procedures independently
- Works in partnership with the healthcare team in implementing standards of care during the operative and immediate post-operative phase in accordance with the purpose, philosophy, and objectives of nursing, while being a positive team player
- Supervises care given and services rendered in the OR by other professional and non-professional staff
- Responsible for maintenance, care, and use of equipment used, applying principles of asepsis, therapeutic, and technical knowledge to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Assists in orientation of rotating surgical and anesthesia residents, and other nursing staff
- Documents nursing interventions incorporating use of Deliverex, DHCP and GUI
- Provides family and patient education
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse academic program (BSN or ADN)
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Three (3) years of recent Operating Room RN work experience is required
- No sponsorship available
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
