Emergency Department (ED) Physician Services
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting full-time and Locum Tenens, 1099 Emergency Physicians for service at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center located at 1 Medical Center Drive Clarksburg, WV 26301.If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial evaluation, emergent treatment, and management for a full range of emergency medical conditions (cardiac, respiratory, trauma, musculoskeletal, GI, endocrine, psychiatric, OB/GYN emergencies, etc.).
- Perform minor procedures, including:
- Laceration repair
- Incision & drainage
- Nail trephination
- Bladder catheterization
- Gastric lavage
- Peripheral IV line placement
- Simple wound management
- Perform major emergency procedures, when safe and appropriate to do onsite:
- Central/arterial line placement
- Chest tube or needle thoracostomy
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Endotracheal intubation
- Lumbar puncture
- Temporary pacemaker placement
- Cricothyrotomy
- Provide stabilization and transfer when higher care levels are required.
- Ensure timely patient evaluation compliant with VA access-to-care rules.
- Review and approve inpatient admissions initiated by APPs.
- Provide consultation to referring clinicians and coordinate handoffs.
- Make social work referrals for homeless or high‑risk patients.
- Apply or supervise the application of orthopedic devices (splints, braces).
- Provide discharge instructions and education, ensuring follow‑up plans.
- Ensure proper communication of test results in accordance with VHA Directive 1088.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (preferred) or Board Certification or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory
- Current DEA license
- Current American Heart Association BLS.
- Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation (National Agency Check with Written Inquiries)

All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
