Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Medical Physicist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center located at 5901 E. 7th St. Long Beach, CA 90822. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 0800-1630 with an option of compressed schedule of 10-hour shifts/4 days week, 0700-1730 and call.

Responsibilities
Perform design, optimization, and technical evaluation of radiation treatment plans
Ensure precise and accurate radiation dose delivery
Oversee radiation protection for patients and staff
Provide consultation to Radiation Oncologists and technical staff during treatment planning and delivery
Perform calculations and independent reviews of Monitor Units (MUs) or treatment times
Conduct weekly systematic reviews of charts for all patients under radiation treatment
Perform final chart reviews at the end of treatment courses to confirm prescribed dose delivery and document total doses to critical structures
Manage and maintain the treatment planning computer system, including data input, testing, and documentation
Perform periodic comparisons of planning system output to direct measurements of radiation beams
Assist in the specification and selection of radiation-producing machines, accessories, and computerized treatment planning systems
Evaluate equipment for continued utility, reliability, and replacement needs
Develop and maintain a quality management program (QMP) for dosimetry systems and related applications
Provide network and computer support for treatment planning, delivery, and management systems
Participate in the implementation of new procedures and technologies
Maintain detailed documentation of all calibrations, testing, and quality assurance activities
Assist in training and professional development of radiation oncology residents and staff
Qualifications
Master's degree in Medical Physics or related field
Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
Minimum 2 years of continuous working experience within the last 3 years in therapeutic medical physics
Experience with:
Varian Linear Accelerators (TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories)
Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT
Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system
Treatment modalities including 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT
IMRT QA systems (e.g., MapCheck)
CT Simulators
Superficial X-ray machines
Experience in a healthcare system with ACR or APEx certification preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficiency in computer systems and networking related to radiation oncology
Ability to pass a government background check and complete required VA training

Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
